Brian has been a Legal Costs Draftsman for some 27 years working in-house for a number of PI firms of varying sizes before moving to external costs specialists. He has worked externally for some 20 years before setting up BD Costs some 5 years ago. Brian has dealt with costs on a variety of matters but predominately focuses on personal injury and clinical negligence. He regularly attends Court on a variety of matters ranging from contested fixed costs matters through to multi-million pound budget matters and all matters in between. Familiar with a number of technical aspects relating to costs, Brian is happy to (and regularly does) provide advice and assistance in relation to numerous aspects relating to costs.
Having entered the world of costs pre-Woolf reforms, David has a wealth of experience dealing with a multitude of cases from low value personal injury claims to high value clinical negligence claims and everything in between, to include industrial disease, employer’s liability and holiday illness, and has an extremely high success rate at both Provisional and Detailed Assessment, often Part 36 offers and securing the requisite 10% award for the Client as a bonus. David also strives to ensure that a quality product is provided with a view to maximising the Client’s recovery.
Helen joined the firm in March 2020. Helen holds over 14 years costs experience and has dealt with many high value and complex cases, mainly relating to catastrophic injury and medical negligence, including substantial birth injury matters. In addition, she has also dealt with general personal injury work including Industrial Disease and Stress matters; Professional Negligence costs; Reparation costs; Commercial costs and Solicitor/ Client. Helen deals with all of her matters from cradle to grave and also deals with budgeting aspects during the substantive action. She finds exploring and engaging in technical arguments of a particular interest. In her spare time Helen enjoys relaxing by travelling with her family (albeit airports can be testing with her 1 year old) and she also enjoys cooking and growing her own produce.”
Kira joined the firm in September 2021. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in March 2019 and deals with all elements of costs ranging from Multi-Track, high value and complex matters to Enforcement. Kira also undertakes advocacy work for BD Costs. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with friends and family.
Vicky is a Senior Costs Draftsman, she started working in costs 10 years ago drafting schedules and N260’s and has now progressed to dealing with high value Multi-Track claims. Vicky has dealt with a variety of work spanning from Court of Protection and Commercial Litigation to Personal Injury, Industrial Disease, and Clinical Negligence with multiple Claimant and Defendant cases. Vicky deals with both budgets and bills dealing with matters from “cradle to grave”
